Daylight saving extended for Canberra
Canberra will get an extra month of daylight saving after the Legislative Assembly passed laws bringing the ACT into line with other states.
The changes will bring the ACT into line with Tasmania, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia.
Minister for Industrial Relations Andrew Barr says daylight saving will now start on the first weekend of October and continue until the start of April.
"There's greater continuity for business around the summertime. There has been problems in the past where different states and territories have had different commencement dates and conclusion dates for daylight savings, that has caused disruption to business," he said.
