There is a new report that Acre, Brazil will attempt to re-introduce their previous time zone.
Submitted by senator Aníbal Diniz (PT-AC) and approved on August 27, 2013 by the Economic Affairs Committee the motion awaits the analysis and final approval of the Economic Affairs Committee. The proposed changes to re-introduce the time zone is just for Acre, excluding Amazonas.
At the meeting, Senator Aníbal defended the approval of the project and pointed out that the amendment presented restricts the zone change to Acre, and excludes Amazon."The zone of Acre is a complex subject, but of extreme importance to the State. We intend to approve it and we have the understanding that this amendment does not change the content of the project. Therefore, the design can be approved by the Senate without the need to return to the House of Representatives for further analysis." said Aníbal.
